Soon And Very Soon
Scripture:
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 1:7; John 14:1–3
Devotional
“Soon and very soon” isn’t just a lyric — it’s the truth our hearts are anchored to. Jesus is coming back. Not in theory. Not as a metaphor. A real return. A real King. A real promise.
Pastor Charmaine reminded us that fear, heartbreak, uncertainty, and the weight of life can make us forget this hope. But Jesus says, “Do not let your heart be troubled.” Not because life is easy, but because He is preparing a place for us and He is coming again. Hope isn’t wishful thinking — it’s expectation. It lifts our eyes from what hurts to Who heals.
When His return becomes real to us, it changes how we live today. We move with urgency, tenderness, generosity, and purpose. We don’t drift — we prepare. We stay ready. We stay watchful. We stay hopeful. And we become carriers of that hope to a world drowning in fear.
Soon and very soon… we will see the King.
Reflective Questions
1. Do I live like Jesus could return at any moment?
2. What fears have been distracting me from hope?
3. What area of my life needs to align with eternity again?
Prayer
Jesus, remind me that You are coming soon. Let that truth settle my heart, clear my mind, and steady my faith. Help me live ready, expectant, and anchored in hope. Make my life a light that points others toward You. Amen.
Action Step
Choose one drawer, one bag, or one corner to clear out today. As you do, pray:
“Lord, clear out anything in me that keeps me from being ready for Your return.”
A symbolic and practical reset.
