Humility in Worship
Scripture:
“She wiped his feet with her hair.” John 12:3
Devotional:
Mary used her hair - her glory, her dignity, her identity - to worship Jesus. In her culture, this was deeply humbling and even scandalous. True worship often looks foolish to others, especially the religious.
Revival begins when we stop protecting our image and start honoring Jesus with our whole selves. Humility makes room for God’s presence. Pride closes the door. Worship isn’t about how it looks - it’s about who it’s for.
Reflection Questions:
1. What parts of my identity do I protect the most?
2. Am I more concerned with how worship looks or how God is honored?
3. What would humility look like for me right now?
Prayer:
Jesus, I lay down my pride before You. Teach me to worship with honesty and humility. I don’t want to perform - I want to pour out. Amen.
Action Step:
Practice unseen worship today - serve, pray, or give without anyone knowing.
