Restoration in Grace & Truth
Scripture:
Ephesians 4:15–16
“Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.”
Devotional:
Pastor Charmaine reminded us that grace and truth are not opposites - they are partners. Grace is like water, softening the soil, while truth is like sunlight, directing growth. Both are needed for full restoration. Without truth, grace becomes shallow. Without grace, truth becomes harsh. Together, they bring balance that leads to real maturity in Christ.
God restores us not just for our own healing but to reflect Him to others. As we cultivate grace and truth, we create a healthy environment where people can encounter Jesus and grow. Restoration is never meant to end with us - it’s meant to flow through us into our families, our church, and our community.
When we live in both grace and truth, we show the world what it means to be nurtured by the Gardener. That is how restoration becomes not just a personal story but a shared testimony of God’s goodness.
Reflection Questions:
1. Do I tend to lean more toward grace without truth, or truth without grace?
2. How has God restored me by using both grace and truth?
3. How can I carry both into my relationships this week?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for restoring me with both grace and truth. Help me live in the balance of both so that my life reflects Your restoring power to others.
Action Step:
Today, practice both grace and truth in one relationship - encourage with love, but also point toward God’s Word.
