Choose Who You Will Serve
Scripture: Joshua 24:15
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Ephesians 5:1
“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children.”
Devotional:
Following Jesus isn’t just one emotional moment, it’s a daily decision. It’s choosing patience when you’re frustrated, prayer when life feels heavy, and obedience even when it’s inconvenient. Joshua challenged the people to decide who they were going to live for, not just with their words, but with their lives.
And honestly, that choice can feel difficult sometimes. There are so many distractions pulling at our attention and priorities. But the Holy Spirit continually reminds us who we are and helps us live differently.
The good news is that God never asks us to do this alone. The Holy Spirit gives us the strength to keep choosing Jesus again and again, even when we fall short.
Today, choose Him again.
Reflect:
1. What has been competing for my attention lately?
2. Are there areas of my life where my actions don’t reflect my faith?
3. What is one practical way I can choose God today?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to choose You not just in big moments, but in the small, everyday decisions too. Teach me to follow Your voice and live in a way that reflects who You are. When I get distracted or discouraged, draw me back to You again. Amen.
Action Step:
Make one decision today that helps you prioritize your relationship with God.
