Power Flows From Intimacy

Jun 30, 2026

Scripture: “Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:16

If anyone could have operated independently, it was Jesus. Yet throughout His ministry, He continually withdrew to spend time with the Father. Jesus modeled that true spiritual power flows from intimacy, not activity.

We often think effectiveness comes from doing more, serving more, or working harder. But God’s Kingdom works differently. Before Jesus performed miracles, taught crowds, or fulfilled His mission, He spent time with His Father. The strength we need for our calling is found in God’s presence.

Many times we want God’s power without God’s presence. But intimacy is not optional, it is the source.

Reflection Question:

Have you been pursuing God’s hand more than His heart?

Prayer:

Father, draw me back to intimacy with You. Help me value Your presence more than productivity and Your voice more than accomplishment. Teach me to rest in You. Amen.

Action Step:

Spend fifteen uninterrupted minutes with God today without an agenda: simply listening, worshiping, and being present.
