Living Before The Face Of God

Scripture: "In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence." Proverbs 14:26

It's easy to think that fearing God would make us anxious, but Scripture says it actually produces confidence. Why? Because confidence is no longer rooted in ourselves, it's rooted in God. When God becomes bigger, every other fear becomes smaller. Fear of people loses its grip. Fear of failure no longer controls us. Fear of the future begins to fade because our eyes are fixed on the One who holds all things together.

The writer of Hebrews reminds us that through Jesus we now have confidence to enter God's presence. We don't approach a different God than Isaiah encountered - we approach the same holy God through a better covenant established by Christ.

The fear of the Lord isn't about keeping God at a distance. It's about living every day aware that we have the incredible privilege of walking with a holy God. As we behold Him, we are transformed.

May our greatest response this week not be, "What a great message," but, "What a great God."

2. How does remembering God's greatness change your perspective on that fear?

Prayer:

Lord, become bigger in my heart than every fear I face. Help me walk confidently because my life is hidden in Christ. May I live each day in joyful reverence, worship, and obedience as I behold Your glory. In Jesus' name, amen.

Action Step:

Whenever fear arises today, stop and declare aloud one truth about God's character. Let His greatness reshape your perspective.
