Fertilizer of Fellowship

Aug 20, 2025

Scripture:

Hebrews 10:24–25

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds… encouraging one another.”

Devotional:

Pastor Charmaine compared fertilizer to fellowship - and it’s so true. Fertilizer enriches soil, giving a plant what it can’t produce on its own. In the same way, God restores us through people who encourage, challenge, and keep us accountable. We were never meant to grow in isolation.

Restoration often comes through community. When you are weary, God sends someone to speak life. When you are discouraged, a brother or sister lifts you up. When you’re drifting, accountability pulls you back. The truth is, you will grow stronger when you surround yourself with others who love Jesus and love you enough to speak both grace and truth.

We can resist fellowship because it feels messy or vulnerable - but fertilizer is messy too! And yet, it’s essential for growth. Restoration isn’t just “me and Jesus.” It’s me, Jesus, and the body of Christ nurturing one another toward wholeness.

Reflection Questions:

1. Who has God used as “fertilizer” in my life to restore me through encouragement or truth?

2. Am I willing to let others speak into my life, even when it’s uncomfortable?

3. How can I pour into someone else’s growth this week?

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for restoring me through the people You’ve placed in my life. Teach me to both receive encouragement and be an encourager to others.

Action Step:

Choose one person today to encourage—send a text, pray for them, or remind them that God is restoring their life.
