Finishing Well Matters

Scripture: Proverbs 16:3

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Devotional

A lot of people make commitments. Fewer people keep them.

In a culture that often values convenience, God calls His people to faithfulness. Commitment means honoring our word, showing up consistently, and following through even when nobody is watching.

Elisha didn’t stop halfway through the journey with Elijah. He stayed committed until the very end.

Following Jesus requires that same kind of faithfulness. Not because we’re trying to prove ourselves, but because our commitment reflects our trust in Him.

God isn’t only interested in how we start. He cares about how we finish.

Reflection Questions

1. Is there something God has asked me to finish that I’ve been putting off?

2. What does faithfulness look like in my current season?

Prayer

Lord, help me become someone who follows through. Strengthen my character and help me remain faithful in both big and small things. May my life reflect consistency and trust in You. Amen.

Action Step

Finish one task, commitment, or responsibility you’ve been delaying.
