Power Led By Wisdom And Love
Scripture: 1 John 4:12
“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”
Devotional:
The Holy Spirit does not empower us so we can simply look spiritual. He empowers us so our lives can reveal Jesus. The gifts of the Spirit matter, but they must be guided by wisdom and expressed through love.
The sermon closed with an important reminder: knowledge informs us what to do, but wisdom from God reveals the when, where, why, and how. We need the Holy Spirit not just for ability, but for direction and discernment.
When gifts are used without love, they become noise. When knowledge is used without wisdom, it can become pride. But when the Holy Spirit leads us, our lives become a witness.
This is what it means to be clothed in power for the common good. We are not just carrying a gift. We are carrying the heart of Jesus, for His glory and for the good of others.
Reflective Questions:
1. Is my life helping people see Jesus more clearly?
2. Where do I need the Holy Spirit’s wisdom before I act or speak?
3. How can I use what God has given me for the good of others this week?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, lead my life with wisdom and love. Help me use what You have given me in a way that honors Jesus and blesses others. Keep my heart humble, teachable, and surrendered to You. Amen.
Action Step:
Ask God to show you one practical way to serve the common good this week.
