More Than A Good Start

Scripture: Proverbs 4:25-27

“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.”

Devotional

Most people don’t struggle with starting. We struggle with continuing.

It’s easy to feel motivated after a powerful Sunday service, a conference, or a moment where God speaks clearly. But commitment is proven long after the excitement fades. The Christian life isn’t built on occasional inspiration, it’s built on daily obedience.

Pastor Steve reminded us that discipline is often choosing what matters most over what feels best in the moment. The small decisions we make every day shape who we’re becoming. Prayer when we’re tired. Worship when life feels busy. Trusting God when we don’t see immediate results.

A committed walk with Jesus isn’t about perfection. It’s about direction. Keep your eyes fixed on Him and keep taking the next faithful step.

Reflection Questions

1. Where have I been relying on motivation instead of commitment?

2. What daily habit could help me stay focused on Christ?

Prayer

Lord, help me stay focused on You. Give me the discipline to follow You not only when I feel inspired, but also in the ordinary moments of life. Strengthen my commitment and keep my heart fixed on Your ways. Amen.

Action Step

Identify one spiritual habit you want to consistently practice this week and commit to it daily.
