Love Is The Greatest Gift

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal…”

Devotional:

Spiritual gifts are powerful, but love is what gives them meaning. Paul makes it clear that even the most impressive spiritual moments are empty without love.

Sometimes we can be more impressed by outward gifts than inward fruit. We may notice someone’s ability before we notice their character. But the Holy Spirit does not just empower us to do things - He transforms who we are.

Love is not always easy. Love forgives when it is hard, serves when it is inconvenient, stays humble when it could seek attention, and chooses people over pride. Love is the evidence that God is truly at work in us.

To be clothed in power is not just to demonstrate spiritual gifts. It is to demonstrate the nature of Jesus, so the world can see His love through us.

Reflective Questions:

1. Have I ever focused more on gifting than love?

2. Where is God asking me to practice love, forgiveness, or humility?

3. Does the way I serve make people feel seen, valued, and cared for?

Prayer:

Jesus, help me love like You. Let my gifts never become louder than my heart for people. Teach me to forgive, serve, and walk in humility, even when it is difficult. Amen.

Action Step:

Choose one person today to love intentionally through encouragement, forgiveness, patience, or service.
