One of David's greatest misses was his failure to address the sin and dysfunction happening within his own family. When his son Amnon sinned against his daughter Tamar, David became angry, but he never took meaningful action. The consequences rippled throughout the family. Hurt turned into bitterness, bitterness turned into revenge, and eventually another son, Absalom, took matters into his own hands.

Ignoring problems doesn't make them disappear. Many of us avoid hard conversations because we don't want conflict, hurt feelings, or tension. But sometimes love requires correction. Sometimes care requires courage.

Godly leadership isn't about controlling people, it's about lovingly guiding them toward what is right.

Whether it's in our homes, friendships, workplaces, or ministries, avoiding difficult conversations can allow deeper problems to grow.

Is there a conversation you've been avoiding that God may be asking you to have?

Prayer

Father, give me wisdom and courage to address things with love and truth. Help me not confuse comfort with obedience. Teach me to lead with both grace and conviction. Amen.
