Know Your Enemy
Scripture: Revelation 12:17
“The dragon was enraged… and went off to make war with those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.”
Devotional
The enemy’s goal has never changed—to oppose God’s purposes and discourage God’s people.
Sometimes we give the enemy too much credit, and other times we pretend he doesn’t exist at all. Scripture calls us to neither fear him nor ignore him. Instead, we recognize that there is a real spiritual enemy while remembering that Jesus has already secured the ultimate victory.
The enemy attacks through lies, distractions, temptations, fear, and division. He wants believers to forget who they are and whose they are. That’s why knowing God’s Word is so important. Truth exposes the lies and keeps us grounded.
We don’t overcome by being stronger than the enemy. We overcome by staying close to Jesus.
Questions
1. What lies have I been tempted to believe recently?
2. Where do I need to replace fear with truth?
3. How can I stay more connected to Jesus this week?
Prayer
Father, help me recognize the enemy’s schemes without becoming consumed by them. Fill my heart with Your truth and remind me of the victory I have through Christ. Keep my eyes fixed on You. Amen.
