Faithful To His Word
Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:15–16
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. But avoid godless and empty chatter.”
There are a lot of voices competing for our attention.
Culture has an opinion. Social media has an opinion. Friends have opinions. We have our own opinions.
But a useful vessel remains anchored to God’s Word.
Paul warns Timothy about empty conversations and teachings that pull people away from truth. He doesn’t tell Timothy to adjust God’s Word to fit what people want to hear. He tells him to accurately handle the Word of truth.
That same challenge is before us today.
If we aren’t being filled with God’s truth, something else will gladly fill us.
Being useful to God means allowing Scripture to shape what we believe, how we think, how we speak, and how we live, even when God’s Word challenges us.
Before we can faithfully carry His truth to others, we have to allow His truth to work in us.
Application:
Pay attention to what has been filling your mind lately. Make intentional room today to read God’s Word before allowing other voices to shape your thoughts.
Prayer:
Lord, keep us grounded in Your truth. Give us discernment to recognize what pulls us away from You and a hunger to know Your Word. May our lives faithfully reflect what You have spoken. Amen.
