The Backpack

Dec 10, 2025

Scripture

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41‬:‭10‬

Devotional

We all carry a backpack through life — full of pressure, fear, unanswered prayers, responsibility, and disappointment. Mary and Joseph carried theirs too. God didn’t remove their load instantly — He joined them in the journey.

This is the heart of Emmanuel — God with us.

Peace doesn’t always mean the weight disappears. Sometimes peace means you’re no longer carrying it alone. Jesus strengthens, helps, and upholds us while we walk.

Peace is not when the backpack disappears.

Peace is when Jesus walks beside you while you carry it.

Reflection

What weight have I been carrying alone?

What would it look like to let God uphold me instead of pushing through by myself?

Prayer

Lord, You promise to strengthen me and hold me steady. Help me release the weight You never asked me to carry alone. Thank You for walking with me instead of leaving me to do life on my own. Amen.
