The Cost Of Revival
Key Scripture:
Luke 14:28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost…?”
Devotional:
We love the idea of revival: full altars, passionate worship, hunger for God. But revival isn’t built on hype. It’s built on surrendered hearts. Jesus said count the cost.
The cost of revival is comfort. It’s ego. It’s control. It’s the version of Christianity that fits neatly into our schedule. Revival demands alignment. It demands obedience when no one’s watching. It demands endurance when feelings fade.
You can’t have sustained revival without sustained surrender.
Reflect:
1. What has following Jesus cost me so far?
2. What has it not yet cost me?
3. Do I want revival enough to endure discomfort?
Prayer:
Father, I don’t want shallow fire. I want lasting transformation. Help me count the cost honestly. Strengthen me to pay the price of obedience and humility.
Action Step:
Do one act of obedience today that costs you something: time, pride, convenience, or comfort.
