A House Cleansed
Scripture: Matthew 21:12–13
Jesus enters the temple and overturns tables. This moment is strong, intentional, and deeply revealing. He is not just confronting behavior, He is restoring purpose. The temple was meant to be a place of connection with God, but it had become crowded with distraction and self-interest.
Sometimes our hearts can look similar. Not outwardly chaotic, but internally filled with things that take up space meant for God. Busyness, worry, control, even good things can slowly shift our focus away from Him.
Jesus doesn’t cleanse to shame, He cleanses to restore. He makes room again for what matters most.
Reflective Questions:
1. What might be “crowding” my heart right now?
2. Have I allowed anything to take priority over my connection with God?
3. Am I willing to let Jesus rearrange things in me?
Prayer:
Lord, search my heart. Show me anything that doesn’t belong, anything that is taking Your place. Give me the courage to release it. Make my life a place where You dwell freely.
Action Step:
Identify one distraction or habit that’s been pulling you away from God and intentionally step back from it today.
