The Promise Of The Spirit

Mar 18, 2026

Key Scripture:

Joel 2:28–29

The promise of the Holy Spirit did not begin in the New Testament. Hundreds of years earlier, the prophet Joel spoke of a day when God would pour out His Spirit on all people.

When Jesus told His disciples to wait, He was pointing them back to a promise that had been spoken long before their time. God had already planned what He was about to do.

Sometimes we forget that God’s promises are not rushed decisions. They are part of a story He has been writing across generations.

The same Spirit that empowered the early church is the Spirit God gives to His people today.

Reflective Questions:

1. Do I recognize the Holy Spirit as God’s gift to me?

2. How often do I invite the Spirit to guide my life?

3. What difference would it make if I relied on the Spirit more intentionally?

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, thank You for being God’s promise to His people. Help me become more aware of Your presence and leadership in my life.

Action Step:

Pause during your day and invite the Holy Spirit to guide one specific decision.
