Into The Fire

Read: Malachi 3:1–4

Silver doesn’t become pure by avoiding the fire. The refining process requires intense heat. As the silver is heated, impurities rise to the surface where they can be removed. What was already inside becomes visible because of the fire.

Our lives can work the same way.

Pressure has a way of revealing what’s inside us. Difficult seasons can expose fear, pride, impatience, anger, control, doubt, or places where we have been relying on ourselves instead of God.

But exposure isn’t the end of the story.

God reveals so that He can refine.

Instead of immediately asking God to remove every uncomfortable situation, what if we asked Him to use it? The fire may be uncomfortable, but the Refiner is intentional.

Reflect:

What has been rising to the surface of my heart lately? What might God be revealing in me through this season?

Prayer:

Father, I surrender myself to Your refining work. When things become uncomfortable, help me not to run from what You want to reveal. Show me what needs to be removed, healed, or surrendered. Purify my heart until my life reflects more of You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s Action:

Identify one attitude, habit, fear, or response that God may be bringing to the surface. Give it to Him honestly in prayer.
