From Fear To Commission

Apr 8, 2026

Scripture:

John 20:19, 21

“The disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear… Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’”

Devotional:

The disciples went from witnessing the greatest miracle in history to hiding behind locked doors. Fear didn’t disappear just because Jesus rose.

But Jesus didn’t rebuke them. He met them in their fear and then gave them purpose. “Peace be with you… now go.”

Jesus doesn’t wait for you to feel ready. He steps into your fear, speaks peace, and still calls you forward.

Resurrection power isn’t just about victory over death. It’s about courage in your calling.

Reflective Questions:

1. What am I hiding from or avoiding right now?

2. Where is God calling me to step out despite fear?

Prayer:

Lord, meet me in my fear. Speak peace over the places I feel stuck or uncertain. Give me courage to step into what You’ve called me to, even if I don’t feel ready. I trust that You go with me.

Action Step:

Take one small step today toward something you’ve been avoiding out of fear.
