The King's Trust
Scripture:
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
Psalm 20:7
Devotional:
In Psalm 20, David reminds us that even kings can misplace their trust. Chariots and horses represent strength and strategy - good things, but not God. Techniques and systems have value, yet they must remain rooted in Him. When our confidence shifts to what we’ve built instead of who built us, we slowly surrender the high ground.
The Lord is the best strategist. He sees the entire battlefield when we only see our front line. Strength in the Lord means trusting His plan even when it disrupts ours. When we choose to rely on Him first - not as a last resort - He gives divine perspective that turns battles into testimonies.
Reflection Questions:
1. Where have I placed more confidence in my methods than in my Maker?
2. What would trusting God first look like in the challenge I’m facing now?
Prayer:
God, You are my confidence and my commander. Help me to trust Your ways over my weapons. May every plan I make begin with Your wisdom. Amen.
Action Step:
Write down one area you’ve been trying to control. Pray specifically to surrender it and ask God for His strategy.
