Fight For Yourself, Then Others

Nov 7, 2025

Scripture:

“Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”

Ephesians 6:20

Devotional:

You can’t fight for others if you won’t first fight for yourself. Spiritual warfare starts in your own heart — in your willingness to confront the flesh, to choose surrender, and to pray until something shifts. Prayer isn’t passive — it’s your weapon and your lifeline.

When you pray for yourself, you’re not being selfish — you’re strengthening your spirit so you can stand for others. It’s like sharpening your sword before battle. The stronger your prayer life, the more effective you’ll be in helping those around you.

Reflect:

1. Have I been neglecting my own spiritual health while trying to help others?

2. Where in my life do I need to go on the offensive in prayer?

3. What does “fighting in prayer” look like for me this week?

Prayer:

God, strengthen me to stand firm. Help me fight the battles within before I try to fight battles around me. Teach me to pray with endurance and faith, knowing You’ve already given me victory through Jesus.

Action Step:

Take 10 minutes today to intentionally pray for yourself — your heart, your mind, your purpose. Write one area you’re battling and one verse to stand on.
