What Am I Holding Onto?

Scripture: Matthew 6:33

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Sometimes the things competing for first place in our hearts aren’t inherently bad things. Comfort. Success. Plans. Recognition. Our own desires.

The question is whether any of them have become more important than following Jesus.

Jesus isn’t asking to simply be included in our life as another “thing” on the ongoing list of things we want. He desires to be our first, primary choice.

Application:

Ask yourself today: What has been getting more of my attention than God lately? Choose one practical way to put Him first again.

Prayer:

Jesus, reveal anything I’ve placed ahead of You. Realign my heart and help me seek You first. Amen.
