Trying Harder to Transforming Deeper

Aug 7, 2025

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 3:18

“And we all... are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”

Devotional:

The law demands effort. Grace invites transformation. The old glory says, “Try harder.” The new glory says, “Let Me change you.” And this change isn’t a one-time event — it’s a journey, a process, a “glory to glory” transformation.

You don’t need to become holy overnight. You just need to stay in His presence. Transformation doesn’t happen through performance but through proximity. As we behold Him, we become like Him. This is the glory that never fades — and it’s what you were made for.

Reflection Questions:

1. Where am I trying harder instead of trusting deeper?

2. Do I believe that just being with Jesus is enough to change me?

3. What’s the next degree of glory He’s calling me into?

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, I don’t want surface-level change — I want real transformation. Help me to keep coming close, even when I don’t see instant results. Take me from glory to glory, in Your timing, by Your power.

Action Step:

Set aside 10 minutes today to simply behold Jesus — worship, pray, or sit in stillness. No striving, just showing up.
