Glory That Changes Us

Scripture: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” Isaiah 6:3

The Hebrew word for glory, kāḇôḏ, carries the idea of weight, not physical weight, but overwhelming significance and worth. God’s glory is so magnificent that it leaves people speechless. Isaiah didn’t leave God’s presence thinking more highly of himself; he became deeply aware of God’s greatness and his own need for grace.

When Isaiah saw God’s glory, it led him through a beautiful pattern: revelation, conviction, cleansing, and finally commission. God exposed Isaiah’s sin not to shame him but to restore him for His purposes.

Many of us avoid conviction because we associate it with condemnation. But conviction is actually evidence of God’s love. The Lord lovingly reveals areas of our hearts because He desires deeper intimacy with us. Every time He convicts us, He also offers cleansing through Christ.

The closer we draw to God’s holiness, the more honest we become—not because we’re trying to earn His love, but because His light reveals what He wants to heal.

1. Are you allowing God to search your heart, or are you hiding areas from Him?

2. Have you viewed conviction as God’s kindness rather than His rejection?

Prayer:

Lord, search my heart today. Reveal anything that keeps me from deeper fellowship with You. Thank You that Your conviction leads to cleansing, not condemnation. Make me more like Jesus as I walk in Your presence. Amen.

Action Step:

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal one area where He’s inviting you into greater holiness. Confess it honestly and receive His forgiveness.
