Knowing Him is the Strength
Scripture:
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom… but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know Me.”
Jeremiah 9:23-24
Devotional:
Being strong in the Lord isn’t about spiritual performance - it’s about spiritual proximity. The more we know Him, the more His strength flows through us. When Jeremiah speaks of “boasting in knowing God,” he’s talking about relationship, not reputation. The world trains us to build resumes; the Lord trains us to build intimacy.
The enemy’s greatest tactic is distraction - keeping you so busy doing for God that you forget being with God. But the high ground is found in communion. When you know His heart, you can move with His authority.
Reflection Questions:
1. How much of my faith is based on knowing about God rather than knowing Him?
2. What helps me feel closest to His presence - and how can I prioritize that this week?
Prayer:
Father, draw me closer to You. Strip away anything that distracts me from intimacy with You. Let my strength come from knowing who You are, not what I can do. Amen.
Action Step:
Spend time today reading a gospel story about Jesus (e.g., John 15). Highlight what it reveals about His heart - not just His actions.
