Restoration Isn’t Instant

Aug 14, 2025

Scripture:

Joel 2:23–24

“Be glad, O children of Zion… the threshing floors shall be full of grain; the vats shall overflow with wine and oil."

Restoration isn’t instant. God’s promise to restore the years lost wasn’t just about replacing crops - it was about abundance beyond what was lost. But in between the locusts and the overflow came a process: repentance, turning, and trusting God’s timing.

Sometimes we want the restoration without the process. But God’s restoration is deeper than replacing what you had. He changes you in the waiting, so when the overflow comes, you’re ready to steward it well.

Reflection Questions:

1. Am I willing to trust God’s timing in my restoration?

2. How has God already changed me through this loss or challenge?

3. Where do I see signs of new growth starting?

Prayer:

God, thank You that You restore more than I’ve lost. Teach me to wait well, to trust You in the in-between, and to believe that the best is still ahead. Amen.

Action Step: Write down one small sign of God’s restoration you can see right now - even if it’s just the change happening in you.
