Faithful In Waiting

May 11, 2026

Scripture:

“Then she made a vow, saying, ‘Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me…’” 1 Samuel 1:11

Hannah’s story didn’t begin with celebration. It began with heartbreak, disappointment, and prayers that seemed unanswered. Year after year, she carried the weight of longing while still choosing to come before God honestly. She didn’t pretend she was okay. She brought her pain to the Lord.

Sometimes we think being “clothed in power” means always feeling strong, confident, and fearless. But Hannah shows us that power can also look like staying faithful while you’re waiting. It’s continuing to pray when you’re tired. Continuing to trust when life feels unclear. Continuing to show up before God even when your heart is heavy.

Whether you’re waiting for healing, breakthrough, purpose, restoration, direction, or even just strength for another day, God sees you in the waiting. Your faithfulness is not wasted. God often does His deepest work in the seasons that feel the quietest.

Reflective Questions:

1. What area of my life feels like a waiting season right now?

2. Have I been honest with God about what I’m carrying?

3. What would it look like to remain faithful while I wait?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You that You see me fully, even in the quiet and difficult seasons. Help me to trust You when I don’t have all the answers yet. Give me strength to stay faithful and remind me that You are still working, even when I cannot see it. Amen.

Action Step:

Spend 10 quiet minutes with God today and be honest with Him about what’s weighing on your heart.
