Holy Spirit: A Whole New Start
SCRIPTURE;
John 3:3–8
DEVOTIONAL:
When Jesus told Nicodemus he had to be “born again,” it was confusing—even to a religious leader like him. But that’s the point. What Jesus was talking about wasn’t about becoming a better person or adding a little more God into your routine. It was a total reset—starting over from the inside out.
This kind of new life isn’t something you can earn, fake, or force. It’s something only God can do through the Holy Spirit. It’s a real change—not just in how you behave, but in how you think, feel, respond, and live. When the Spirit makes you new, your whole foundation shifts. You don’t just try to act better—you begin to see life through a different lens.
Still, it's easy to fall back into a mindset of fixing yourself instead of living like you've actually been changed. But new life means letting go of old patterns and letting the Spirit guide you into something better—even when it feels unfamiliar or uncomfortable.
QUESTIONS:
1. If being “born again” means starting over, what do I need to leave behind today?
2. In what ways have I made faith about performance instead of transformation?
3. If someone watched how I live, would they see evidence of a fresh start?
ACTION STEP:
Take a walk and reflect: "What areas in my life would need to change if I actually lived like I’ve been made new?" No music, no distractions—just 10 minutes outside, asking God to show you where He's inviting you into a deeper reset.
PRAYER:
God, I want to live like I’ve actually been made new. Help me to stop striving and start trusting You. Thank You for giving me a fresh start—not just once, but every day.
