Hope Has A Name

Dec 1, 2025

Scripture:

Isaiah 9:6

Devotional

Advent starts with a pause to remember that before Jesus came, the world was waiting in the dark. Isaiah announced a hope that felt impossible: a child who would carry the government on His shoulders, a Savior who would be everything we lack — Counselor, Mighty, Eternal, Peace-Bringer. Hope wasn’t a concept; Hope was a Person.

When life feels crowded with fear, stress, or the unknown, Jesus steps into the middle of it as the steady One. His names aren’t poetic titles; they’re anchors. Counselor for when your mind is overwhelmed. Mighty God for when your strength runs dry. Everlasting Father when you feel alone. Prince of Peace when the world shakes.

Advent reminds us that hope isn’t fragile. Hope is Jesus — unshakeable, present, and still stepping into our real-life mess with authority and tenderness.

Reflect

1. Where in my life do I need Jesus to be my Counselor, Peace, or Strength right now?

2. How have I been carrying things alone instead of letting Hope carry me?

3. What would it look like for me to trust Jesus in this season more deeply?

Prayer

Jesus, You are my Hope. Thank You for being everything I need, even before I know how to ask. Make Your peace real in the places where fear tries to sit. Help me remember that You came close then, and You’re close now. Strengthen my heart to trust You in every moment of this week. Amen.

Action Step

Write down the name of Jesus you need most today (Counselor, Mighty God, etc.). Pray into that name every time stress tries to rise.
