Peace For The Hard Road
Scripture
“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Luke 2:6–7
Devotional
Mary and Joseph did not arrive at Bethlehem rested, comfortable, or prepared. They were exhausted. Overwhelmed. Out of place. And yet — this is where peace entered the world.
Their journey was full of uncertainty, danger, and discomfort, and still, Jesus was born right there. This tells us something important: God does not wait for your life to calm down before He shows up. He steps into the chaos — not after it’s cleaned up.
If your life feels heavy right now, that doesn’t mean peace is far away. It may mean Jesus is closer than you think.
Reflection
1. What part of my life feels like a hard road right now?
2. Have I been waiting for things to calm down first before trusting God in the mess?
Prayer
God, You see the road I’m on. You know the weight, the uncertainty, and the fatigue. I invite You into this part of my story. Walk with me. Bring Your peace here. Amen.
Action Step
Do one hard thing today without avoiding it - trust that Jesus is with you in it.
