Who Are You Trying To Please?

Scripture:

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” Proverbs 29:25

Devotional

One of the greatest fears we battle isn’t always obvious, it’s the fear of what people think. It quietly shapes our decisions, our words, even our obedience to God. We hesitate to pray out loud, share our faith, or step into what God has called us to because we’re worried about being accepted.

The fear of man is dangerous because it shifts our focus from pleasing God to pleasing people. Approval becomes our reward instead of obedience.

When God calls you, He isn’t asking whether everyone will understand. He’s asking whether you’ll trust Him enough to say yes.

Reflection

Whose approval have you been chasing more than God’s?

Prayer

Father, forgive me for allowing the opinions of others to carry more weight than Your voice. Teach me to value Your approval above everything else. Give me courage to obey You even when it’s uncomfortable, knowing that Your plans are always better than my desire to be accepted. Amen.

Action Step

Identify one area where fear of people’s opinions has been holding you back. Take one small step of obedience today.
