The Weight Of Betrayal

Apr 1, 2026

Scripture: Luke 22:47–48

Judas betrays Jesus with a kiss. It’s one of the most personal and painful moments in the story. Not just betrayal, but betrayal from someone close.

Jesus knew it would happen, and still, He loved. He still walked forward. He didn’t retaliate or withdraw. He remained steady in His purpose.

There’s something profound about this. Jesus understands betrayal, disappointment, and hurt at a level we often don’t talk about. And yet, He doesn’t let it derail His obedience to the Father.

We may not face the same situation, but we all experience moments of hurt. This day reminds us that pain doesn’t have to define our response. We can still choose surrender, trust, and love.

Reflective Questions:

1. Is there any hurt or betrayal I’m holding onto?

2. How do I usually respond when I feel wronged?

3. What would it look like to trust God with that pain?

Prayer:

Jesus, You understand pain in ways I can’t fully comprehend. Help me to bring my hurt to You. Teach me to respond with grace, even when it’s difficult. Heal what’s been wounded in me.

Action Step:

Bring one area of hurt to God honestly today. Name it, and release it to Him.
