Trust the Master Builder

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 5:17

“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Devotional:

Renovation is human work. Restoration is God’s work. Anyone can pick up a brush and repaint a room, but only a master builder knows how to repair the foundation, read the blueprint, and rebuild according to the original design.

That’s who God is for us. He is the Master Builder. He knows your blueprint because He wrote it. He created you in His image (Genesis 1:27). Sin may have distorted it, but God is able to restore what was broken. Like a priceless painting, only the artist or a master restorer can bring it back to life without damaging it further.

We can renovate all day - rearrange habits, clean up behaviors, make ourselves look better - but only God can restore our true identity and heal the soul.

Reflection Questions:

1. Where have I been trying to “renovate” my life without letting God rebuild?

2. What would surrendering my blueprint to the Master Builder look like in practice?

Prayer:

Jesus, You are the Master Builder. You know my true design. I release my attempts to fix myself and invite You to restore me from the foundation up.

Action Step:

Pick one area of your life (marriage, family, finances, habits) where you’ve been trying to “fix yourself.” Write out a prayer of surrender, asking God to take over as the Builder.
