The Power We Carry

Nov 7, 2025

Scripture:

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.”

Romans 8:11

Devotional:

We’ve all prayed for God’s power to show up — in our church, our families, our circumstances. But the truth is, His power is already here. The resurrection wasn’t just a moment in history; it was a deposit of divine power placed inside every believer.

What if the reason we don’t always see the power of God is because we haven’t learned to carry it well? The Holy Spirit doesn’t just visit — He dwells. That means He shapes our character, renews our thinking, and transforms our posture long before He performs the miracle.

Pastor Steve reminded us: the same Spirit that raised Jesus now lives in you. Building on that, the challenge is this — are we living in a way that honors the One who lives in us? Power isn’t shown by performance; it’s stewarded through surrender.

Reflection Questions:

1. Where in my life am I still trying to “prove” I have power instead of trusting that I already carry it?

2. What would it look like to honor the Holy Spirit’s presence in my daily decisions?

3. When have I felt His power change me from the inside out?

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, thank You for dwelling in me. Help me carry Your presence with humility and awareness. Teach me to host You, not just visit You.

Action Step:

Pause three times today — morning, noon, and night — and simply whisper: “You’re here, Holy Spirit.” Let that awareness shift how you move.
