Holy Spirit: Equips You
SCRIPTURE:
1 Corinthians 12:4–11 “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. … Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”
DEVOTIONAL:
The Holy Spirit doesn’t just live in you or transform you—He equips you with supernatural gifts to serve and strengthen the body of Christ. These aren’t talents you’re born with or skills you’ve mastered. They are Spirit-given gifts distributed to each believer on purpose and for a purpose.
Pastor Steve reminded us that the gifts of the Spirit are not about spotlight or status—they’re about serving. Whether it’s prophecy, teaching, healing, mercy, encouragement, or administration, your gift is not about you. It’s about building up the Church and advancing the mission of Jesus.
Every believer has been given something. You are not empty-handed. The Spirit equips you to play your part—and when everyone uses what God gave them, the Church grows strong, unified, and fruitful.
QUESTIONS:
1. Do I know what spiritual gift(s) God has placed in me?
2. Am I using those gifts to build others up—or have I been holding back?
3. Who in my life could be encouraged, helped, or strengthened if I stepped out in faith and used what the Spirit has given me?
PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, thank You for choosing to equip me with gifts for Your purpose. I don’t want to sit on what You’ve given. Stir up what’s inside of me. Teach me how to use my gifts to build others up, glorify Jesus, and serve with humility. Show me where and how to use what You’ve entrusted to me.
ACTION STEP:
Take one small step to use your gift this week. If you’re not sure what your gift is, ask a trusted friend or leader what they see in you—or take time to pray and reflect. If you do know your gift, use it to bless someone today: send encouragement, offer help, pray boldly, or share what God is speaking.
