What You Tolerate, You Teach

Every family, workplace, and community has a culture. That culture is shaped not only by what is encouraged but also by what is tolerated. David's failure to address wrongdoing sent a message to his family. Silence often communicates approval, even when that's not our intention.

The same principle applies today. If we tolerate dishonesty, gossip, bitterness, or compromise in our own lives, we unintentionally teach others that those things are acceptable.

The good news is that our example works both ways. When we choose integrity, forgiveness, humility, and obedience, we create a culture that points people toward God. The people around us may not remember every lesson we teach, but they will remember the life we lived.

Lord, let my life reflect Your character. Help me recognize areas where I've become comfortable with things You want to change. Shape me into a godly example for those You have entrusted to me. Amen.
