The Slow Work of Restoration
Scripture:
1 Corinthians 3:7
“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”
Devotional:
Restoration is rarely instant. Just as Pastor Charmaine described, cultivation is a process - the gardener plants, waters, prunes, and waits. We often want quick fixes, but God works with careful intention. His restoration in your life is steady, patient, and thorough.
Think of a seed underground: nothing seems to be happening, but roots are quietly being formed. The same is true for you. God is restoring you in hidden places- strengthening your roots, healing unseen wounds, and preparing you to grow. Even when you can’t see progress, you can trust the Gardener is at work.
The challenge is to stay faithful during the in-between. When we choose prayer, worship, and obedience in the “waiting seasons,” we are watering the soil of our lives. Restoration doesn’t skip the process - it thrives in it.
Reflection Questions:
1. Where in my life does it feel like nothing is happening, though I’ve been praying?
2. How can I remind myself that unseen growth is still real growth?
Prayer:
Father, thank You that restoration is already happening even when I don’t see it. Give me patience and faith to trust the process You are leading me through.
Action Step:
Write down one area where you’re waiting on God’s restoration. Each day this week, pray over it and release it into His timing.
