Not My Will, But Yours Be Done

Scripture: “Not My will, but Yours be done.” Luke 22:42  

Jesus demonstrated the ultimate act of surrender in the Garden of Gethsemane. He did not surrender because He was weak; He surrendered because He trusted the Father completely.

Pastor Charmaine shared that surrender is not losing control—it is placing our lives into the hands of the One who is completely trustworthy.  

When we let go of our agendas, timelines, fears, and expectations, we create space for God’s greater purposes to unfold.

An empty vessel is not a useless vessel. It is a vessel finally ready to be filled.  

Today, God may not be asking you to understand everything. He may simply be asking you to trust Him.

What is one thing you’ve been hesitant to fully surrender to God?

Prayer:

Jesus, teach me to trust You completely. Help me release my plans, fears, and need for control. I surrender my life, my future, and my desires into Your hands. Fill me with Your Spirit and lead me in Your ways. Amen.

Action Step:

Pray a simple prayer of surrender today: “Lord, not my will, but Yours be done.” Then sit quietly and trust Him with the outcome.
