Trusting God In The Rest

Leviticus 25:20-21

“If you say, ‘What shall we eat in the seventh year?’ … Then I will command My blessing on you…”

Devotional

One of the most difficult commands God gave Israel was to stop working.

No planting.

No harvesting.

No striving.

Imagine how uncomfortable that must have felt.

Naturally, the question came: “What are we going to eat?” God already knew they would ask.

His answer wasn’t to explain every detail. His answer was simply:

“I will provide.”

Jubilee exposed where trust truly lived. Would they trust their own effort, or God’s faithfulness?

Sometimes God allows seasons where our usual methods don’t work—not to punish us, but to reveal whether our confidence is in our ability or His provision. Faith isn’t just believing God can provide. Faith is resting because He promised He will.

Reflection

What area of your life feels impossible to stop controlling?

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for relying more on my own effort than on Your faithfulness. Teach me what it means to truly rest in You. Strengthen my faith to believe You are working, even when I can’t see it.

Action Step

Identify one burden you’ve been carrying alone. Surrender it to God in prayer instead of trying to solve it immediately.
