Comfort Is Not The Enemy, Complacency Is
Scripture: Amos 6:1
Comfort isn’t necessarily sinful, but complacency is. When life feels stable, our dependence on God can quietly fade. We still believe, still attend, still serve… but we stop seeking. Desperation on the other hand, that keeps us dependent. God isn’t after disruption for disruption’s sake - He’s after a heart that still knows where its source is. How desperate are you for Him?
Reflect:
1. Where have I grown spiritually comfortable?
2. What no longer feels urgent in my walk with God?
Prayer:
Lord, I don’t want to drift while thinking I’m fine. Expose areas where comfort has replaced dependence. Teach me to stay hungry even when life feels steady.
Action:
Fast one small comfort today (coffee, social media, TV) and redirect that time to prayer.
