Check the Connection

Aug 25, 2025

Scripture: John 15:4

“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”

Devotional:

Pastor Earl reminded us that power can only flow when a connection is strong. Just like when half his home lost power because of a disconnect, our lives can feel dark and powerless if we aren’t truly connected to God. It’s not enough to “know about Him” or simply attend church; we need a daily, real relationship with Him.

Jesus made it clear: apart from Him, we can do nothing. Restoration begins with checking our connection -making sure there’s no loose wire in our relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When we stay connected, His life flows into every part of us, bringing strength, clarity, and renewal.

Reflective Questions:

1. Am I truly connected to God daily, or just occasionally “plugging in”?

2. Where do I notice areas of my life that feel disconnected or powerless?

3. How do I invite God back into those areas?

Prayer:

Lord, I don’t want to live disconnected from You. Check my heart today and show me where I’ve been unplugged from Your presence. Restore my connection to You and let Your power flow freely through my life.

Action Step: Take 5 minutes today to sit quietly with God, unplugging from distractions, and ask Him: “Am I connected to You fully?”
