When God Consumes The Sacrifice

Mar 11, 2026

Key Scripture:

Isaiah 43:2

In many moments throughout the Bible, when a sacrifice was placed on the altar, God responded with fire. Fire represented His presence accepting what had been given to Him. Pastor Randy connected this imagery to Acts 2, where tongues of fire appeared over the disciples.

God does not ignore genuine surrender. When we come to Him honestly, He meets us with His presence and begins doing work that we cannot accomplish on our own.

What changed in Acts 2 was not just the environment, it was the people. Their behavior shifted. Their courage increased. Their language changed. They began speaking boldly about Jesus in ways they never had before.

When God touches a surrendered life, transformation follows.

Reflective Questions:

1. Have I allowed God to truly change me, or only touch my emotions?

2. What evidence of transformation do I see in my life?

3. Am I open to the deeper work God wants to do in me?

Prayer:

God, I don’t want surface-level encounters with You. I invite You to transform my heart and my life. Shape my words, my choices, and my character so that they reflect Your presence within me.

Action Step:

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one area where He wants to produce lasting change.
