New Level, New Devil

Scripture: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid…for the Lord your God goes with you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Devotional

Growth often comes with greater opposition. As God calls you into something new, fear will usually try to convince you to stay where it’s comfortable.

We hear ourselves saying:

“I don’t have enough experience.”

“I’m too busy.”

“What if I fail?”

“What if people don’t support me?”

Fear loves excuses because excuses keep us from obedience.

Every new level of faith requires a greater level of trust. The enemy isn’t threatened by your comfort—he’s threatened by your obedience.

Instead of asking, “What if it doesn’t work?” ask, “What if God is inviting me into something greater?”

Reflection

What excuse have you been using to delay obedience?

Prayer

God, help me recognize when fear disguises itself as wisdom or excuses. Strengthen my faith to move forward, trusting that if You called me, You will also sustain me. Amen.

Action Step

Write down the excuse you’ve been repeating. Then write a truth from Scripture beside it.
