Wholeheartedly, Not Half
Key Scripture
Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Devotional
We love Jeremiah 29:11. The promise. The future. The hope. But the promise is tied to pursuit. Hiʻilawe reminded us: God doesn’t want one slice of our heart. He wants the whole thing. Israel was in exile - not because God abandoned them, but because exile purified what comfort had hidden. Sometimes God allows seasons that expose divided affections. Not to harm us, but to heal us. Awakening happens when we stop asking, “How do I get out of this?” and start asking, “God, are You enough for me here?”
Wholehearted pursuit means surrendering outcomes. It means wanting Him more than breakthrough. More than clarity. More than comfort.
Reflect
1. What “slice” of my heart have I kept for myself?
2. Am I seeking God for His plans - or for Him?
3. Is He enough for me even in exile seasons?
Prayer
God, I don’t want to give You leftovers. Search my heart and reveal divided places. If I’ve been holding onto control, security, or comfort, I release it. I want to seek You with my whole heart - not just the parts that are convenient.
Action Step
Write down one area where you’ve been resisting surrender. Pray over it and intentionally yield it to God today.
