Holy Spirit: Transforms You
SCRIPTURE:
2 Corinthians 3:16–18, Galatians 5:22–25
DEVOTIONAL:
When we turn to the Lord, the veil is removed—and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. That freedom isn’t just from guilt or shame; it’s the freedom to become who we were created to be. The Holy Spirit isn’t just with us—He is actively transforming us into the image of Christ, one degree of glory to the next.
This transformation isn’t instant, and it’s not about self-improvement or striving to be better. True transformation happens through proximity. The more we behold Jesus—through prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience—the more we reflect Him.
You don’t grow the fruit of the Spirit by forcing it; you grow fruit by abiding. It’s the Spirit who produces love in us when we want to shut down. He produces peace in us when anxiety comes knocking. He produces patience when we feel stretched. Our job is to stay surrendered and stay connected.
This process requires both grace and intentionality. God is patient with your progress, but He also invites you to partner with Him. What you feed will grow—and the Spirit wants to grow something beautiful in you.
QUESTIONS:
1. Where might I be resisting the Spirit’s transforming work in my life?
2. Which fruit of the Spirit do I long to see more of in this season?
3. What habits or influences might I be allowing that feed my flesh more than my spirit?
PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, I welcome Your work in me. I don’t want to stay the same—I want to be transformed to look more like Jesus. Remove anything in me that resists Your shaping. Help me to surrender the areas I’ve tried to control on my own.
Grow Your fruit in me—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Not by my strength, but by staying close to You. Let my life reflect Your presence, and let others see You in the way I live, love, and lead. In Jesus’ name, amen.
ACTION STEP:
Choose one fruit of the Spirit that you want to see more of in your life this week. Write it down. Each day, ask the Holy Spirit to cultivate that in you. Then intentionally make one choice per day that aligns with that fruit—whether it's responding with kindness, choosing joy, or practicing self-control.
