More Than A Name
Scripture: Matthew 8:2
“Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
The man with leprosy didn't approach Jesus simply as someone who could perform a miracle. He came worshiping Him, acknowledging Him as Lord before ever receiving his healing.
It's easy to call on Jesus when we need something. We seek Him for healing, provision, protection, and answers to prayer. But there's a difference between recognizing what Jesus can do for us and surrendering to who He is.
Calling Jesus Lord means giving Him authority over every area of our lives, not just inviting Him into the situations where we need His help.
Today, consider whether your relationship with Jesus is centered on what He can provide or on who He is.
Reflection:
Am I pursuing Jesus for His hand, or am I pursuing His heart?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to know You beyond what You can do for me. Teach me to honor You as Lord over every part of my life, even when I don't have a need or request. Amen.
