More Than an Answer
Scripture: Psalm 63:1
Prayer was never meant to be a transaction. God isn't a fortune cookie we turn to for quick answers or a genie we call upon to fulfill our wishes.
In Psalm 63, David expresses a deep thirst for God. His desire wasn't simply for relief from his circumstances, but for God Himself.
Prayer is an invitation to know the Father's heart. It's where we grow in intimacy with Him, learn to recognize His voice, and allow our desires to become aligned with His.
Before asking God to change what's around us, we should invite Him to transform what's within us.
Reflect:
If God didn't answer any of my requests today, would I still desire to spend time with Him?
Prayer:
Father, forgive me for the times I've treated prayer as a list of requests. Help me develop a genuine hunger to know You more deeply. Amen.
