Obedience After The Miracle
Scripture:
Matthew 8:4 and Mark 1:45
After healing the leper, Jesus gave him specific instructions. He was to show himself to the priest and offer what Moses commanded as a testimony.
But Mark 1:45 tells us that the man went out and spread the news widely, resulting in Jesus no longer being able to enter the city openly.
The man received the miracle he had been seeking, but his response didn't follow the instructions Jesus gave him. This challenges us to examine our own obedience.
Sometimes we become so excited about what God has done that we forget to listen to what He's asking us to do next. Even when our intentions seem good, obedience matters.
Calling Jesus Lord means recognizing that His instructions carry authority in our lives, even when we don't fully understand the reason behind them.
Our gratitude should lead us into deeper obedience, not just excitement over answered prayers.
Reflection:
Am I willing to obey God even when His instructions are different from what I want to do?
Prayer:
Lord, give me a heart that not only celebrates Your goodness but also follows Your instructions. Help me to listen carefully, trust Your wisdom, and walk in obedience. Amen.
