Not My Will, But Yours
Scripture: Luke 22:39β46
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed in the midst of deep anguish. He brought His desires before the Father, yet ultimately surrendered to God's will.
Prayer isn't about convincing God to agree with our plans. It's about allowing Him to shape our hearts to agree with His.
Sometimes we come to God with our minds already made up, asking Him to bless the direction we've chosen. But true surrender requires us to release control and trust that His wisdom is greater than our understanding. We can be honest about what we want while remaining obedient to what God desires.
Reflect:
Is there an area of my life where I've been asking God to bless my plans instead of surrendering to His direction?
Prayer:
Father, I surrender my plans, expectations, and desires to You. Even when Your will looks different from mine, help me trust Your heart and follow Your leading. Amen.
